An Introduction to Moving Artz

K A Gibson

Moving Artz is a rural studio specializing in custom airbrushed art on a variety of items. This web site catalogs an assortment of previous projects that are on all kinds of items from T-shirts and jackets to Vehicle and house mural projects.

MovingArtz is a one of a kind customized Airbrush Art shop on the Web, and is located in the Central New York state area of Binghamton and Elmira, with easy access along Interstate 86 (formally Route 17) along the northern border of Pennsylvania.

While other custom airbrush sites produce what is called “cookie cutter” designs in which the airbrush is applied with specific patterns or designs over and over again for production to its mass of customers, Moving Artz wishes to create one of a kind airbrushed art for its clients.

Oh sure, MovingArtz can do the same “cookie cutter” stuff that the other airbrush and print web sites do, but if you would look at the differences from the other sites with these same kind of subjects, it shows in the quality of the artwork done and the satisfaction with the finished product from our customers.

My Work Setup

When I first started with the airbrush, I was trained professional at a t-shirt shop in Orlando, Florida. I started with a single brush and learned with that “restriction”, which showed me the importance of keeping it clean to keep changing colors easier. As time went on I learned to use this tool to work my art onto so many different things, as is shown in my Gallery. With my increasing knowledge, my “tool” collection grew to help meet those needs.

The following photos show a variety of setups I’ve used over the years to complete an on-location job or a display show

Some History of Moving Artz

Now let me give you a little bit of a history of the artist that is behind Moving Artz.

My professional art career started in the Central Florida area working the tourist trade and eventually moved into working in computer graphics in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

I have worked in a variety of art mediums from pencil and inks to automotive and exterior paints on all types of surfaces, textures and items. All of the samples that are displayed on these pages are from the client’s input in creating their special piece.

Besides working with the standard artist tools of the trade, I have specialized in the use of the airbrush for over thirty years and have accumulated a large stock of commercial subjects from a vast customer base.

From book illustrations to wall murals, all manner of subjects have been created from customer requests even when they have minimum ideas of what they want. My ability to work with customers in developing their ideas has been a skill developed over years in working as a commercial artist both for other companies and myself.

I have been interested in art for as long as I can remember. My interest in the airbrush came about the same time as my introduction into the commercial market for this art. To do something you love and to get paid for it was unique for me and it was like a fish to water I couldn’t get enough of it.

To allow the creative spirit to have free reign on a project while meeting the clients requirements is always my ultimate goal.

This site is purposed to guide you through the availability, selection, idea development and purchase of a project you, the customer, have decided on. This will be elaborated on later as the site is expanded.
